Anonymous asked: Tom, not to discredit him, but given that we're still in the middle of Slott's run do you think its right to credit him as one of the all-time Spidey great's alongside Lee, Ditko, McFarlane, and Conway, in the Spidey announcement? Like I've enjoyed his work for the most part, but can you truly say that his stuff won't go down like the Clone Saga in a decade (and thus his name ignored in future announcements?)
I think it’s pretty safe to say at this point that Dan has had an iconic run on Spider-Man, and not one that will be forgotten in the future. And even if he’s not mentioned in a particular announcement–like, say, Romita, Bagley, Kane, Larsen, JMS or Stern were in this case–that won’t change that fact, any more than it changes it for the folks I listed.
