loschicosquecoleccionabantebeos asked: Ey, Tom! Can you talk about the editorial circunstances behind House of M details? Especially about how you decide the end of the saga and the "decimated" landscape. Thanks!!

brevoortformspring:

I don’t remember specifically who came up with the notion of reducing the mutant population in HOUSE OF M. It might have been Brian, it might have been Joe Q or Dan Buckley, or possibly even somebody else. But we’d known for awhile that the number of mutants in the Marvel Universe had grown to such proportion that it undermined the metaphor at the heart of the series, so we wanted to scale things back—and HOUSE OF M gave us the opportunity to do that. What I do know is that Brian is the one who mentioned that at the end of HOUSE OF M, we had the opportunity to change anything that we wanted to when we put the universe back together, and he was also the one who wanted to give Wolverine all of his memories back.
