I don’t know that I’d say that any more than characters like Captain America, who’ve also died multiple times. (Or Jean Grey—but no need to go there again!) The one thing Wonder Man has in his history that makes what you’re saying maybe a bit more applicable than others is that he died in his very first story, and then came back resurrected years later. In that way, he is closer to Jean Grey, whose origin as the Phoenix was that she died and then re-created herself, in essence.
