Anonymous asked: My only problem with the renumbering is when you don't do it when you should like with the Marvel Now Journey Into Mystery which I think would of benifitted from a relaunch.
Well, it’s the eternal double-edged sword. And in each instance, you make what you think is the best decision you can, and then the chips fall where they fall. In the case of JOURNEY, the decision to continue it with Sif rather than ending it with Loki was made relatively late in the game—and so we didn’t want to go out with it as a new #1 without having confidence in the material—despite what some folks think, we want our #1 launches to matter, to set a standard. The same decision was made for books such as AVENGERS ASSEMBLE and RED SHE-HULK—they continued on with new creative teams and new directions, but they weren’t really a part of the creative round-robin that was the backbone of MARVEL NOW! And so, we didn’t go with new #1s on them.
